The Anzac Centenary Reflections Competition is a short film, photography and writing competition run specifically for South Australians during the Anzac Centenary.

Short story 2,000 words/poetry 60 lines
Prize – $250 voucher for short story, $250 voucher for poetry

Many books and articles have been written about the sacrifice and bravery of those who have served over the last 100 years. In this category we are looking for creative pieces that tell a story of a soldier, nurse or a home front story.

This category is split up into two creative writing sub categories. Prose (1000 – 2000 words) and poetry (60 lines) with a $250 voucher awarded to both.

Information and Guidelines Specific to writing category

Story length is a minimum of 1000 words and a maximum of 2000 words (not including story title). Stories outside the word limit will not be accepted.

Work must be submitted in a Word document of Arial or Times New Roman 12pt font, with double spacing. Must also include a title page containing title of the story, name, address, and contact information.

Pay attention to detail and consistency and accuracy with formatting, punctuation and spelling. These factors will be taken into consideration when choosing the successful entrants.

The story must be related to the Anzac Centenary and address the themes as listed in the competition details above.

All stories submitted must be original work and not previously published. However, work that has been published on your own blog or website will be accepted. Work that has won other competitions will not be accepted.

We accept simultaneous submissions, but please notify immediately should the entry be published elsewhere, or if it is acknowledged as a winning, runner up, or highly commended entry by another writing competition.
