Lolo Houbein

Lolo Houbein, of the Adelaide Hills, came to Australia from 
The Netherlands in 1958 aged 24 without speaking English.
Eleven years later she passed adult matriculation and proceeded
to do a B.A. in Classical Studies, Australian Literature and
Anthropology, with a postgraduate year at the University of
Papua New Guinea in Pacific and African literatures. She holds
 a Graduate Diploma in Teaching and is a prolific writer in English
with an extensive portfolio and a list of awards and commendations.
One Magic Square, which is in its 5th print run, was shortlisted for
'Best Food Book' in the Le Cordon Bleu Awards 2010 and named
 'Most innovative Cook Book in Australia' in the International Gourmand Awards 2009.
