This collection records scores of visits over 20 years to the Adelaide Botanic Garden, one of the poet's favourite places. Four sections describe and reflect on trees, flowers, structures and events within the Garden. History, myth, memory and botany are all evoked in clear and accessible free verse. Form and content match each other in spirit, the characteristic light touch enabling the trenchant observations to be more effective. Poems from the collection formed an exhibition, A Poet's Garden, in Autumn 2007 as part of the Garden's 150th anniversary celebration.
